Welcome to St Finn Barr's Catholic School

St Finn Barr’s School is a Catholic co-educational school offering a Catholic Education to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We have provided a quality, child-centred education for students in the Launceston area for 125 years. Today, we continue to follow in the Charism of Nano Nagle and live the spirit of our founders, the Presentation Sisters.

St Finn Barr's offers 'Little Fins' each Thursday from 9:00 am to 10:45  for children aged from birth to 5 years to attend with their parent or carer.  In partnership with Catholic Care, Early Learning (Ludo) is available at St Finn Barr's 5 days per week - (short and long days).  Ludo delivers a play-based learning program for children aged between 3-5 years.

At St Finn Barr’s we are a welcoming and inclusive school community where we believe all students have the right to grow to their full potential in a school environment that promotes Safe, Respectful and Resilient behaviours. Our staff are enthusiastic, highly dedicated and committed to the learning needs of each of our students.

At St Finn Barr’s Catholic School we see it is a privilege to work with you in the education of your child. We believe that the partnership between your family and St Finn Barr’s should be founded on a spirit of mutual respect, cooperation, communication and involvement.

Our Mission and Vision statement guides us as a school and helps us in planning for the learning journey of your child.  We hope you enjoy browsing our website and encourage you to contact our office if you have any questions about our wonderful school.

Acknowledgement of Country

St Finn Barr’s Catholic School is located on the Country of the Tayarinutipana, the Panina and the Litarimirina people of the Stoney Creek Nations, who belong to the land above the floodplains where the three rivers, kanamaluka, plipatumila and laykila meet. We acknowledge and deeply respect the Palawa people, the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community, and all Elders past and present. We are committed to learning alongside our students and community in this place and support the continued sharing of knowledge and Culture.
