On behalf of us all who make up the St Finn Barr’s school community I welcome you to St Finn Barr’s Catholic Primary School, Launceston as we embark on the 2019 school year.

St Finn Barr’s is a 1.5 stream school from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Our school structure includes two 3-day Kindergarten groups, two Prep classes and 3 multi-age classes in each of the following combinations: Grades 1/2, 3/4 and Gr 5/6.

At St Finn Barr’s we are a welcoming and inclusive school community where we believe all students have the right to grow to their full potential in a school environment that promotes Safe, Respectful and Resilient behaviours. Our staff are enthusiastic, highly dedicated and committed to the spiritual, emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of our students through life long learning.

We help our students to feel secure and experience success so they learn to view themselves as valued members of a community.  In 2019, we are strongly committed to focusing on the well being needs of all students.  Across the school and in classrooms, we focus on MJR (Making Jesus Real Program), MY TERN (Taking Emotional Responsibility Now), Circle Time and our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program.

In 2019 we will have  a teacher working 2 days a week to promote Student Wellbeing,  we have a School counsellor 3 days per fortnight and a School Chaplain working 2 days per week.  The social and emotional health of all our community is extremely important and in this area we strive to be proactive in our work with all our community members.

At St Finn Barr’s we offer a diverse and dynamic curriculum that caters for all learning styles. We provide a range of development opportunities including student leadership, learning support, differentiated curriculum, daily PE activities and swimming programs, camps, community projects and specialist subjects in PE, Music, Art and Drama. We develop our students to become active and responsible citizens through supporting community organisations and involvement in community events.

We value and support partnerships with parents/carers in the daily education of their children, and believe that this should be founded on a spirit of mutual respect, co-operation, communication and involvement. It is a privilege to work with families in the education of their child/ren and opinions and enquiries are valued and welcomed at any time.

Please feel free to explore our website and contact the school for further information or to arrange a tour of the facilities so you can experience our warm and engaging environment first hand.

You can view information about our school on Facebook (St Finn Barr's Catholic Primary School) or through our page on Team App (St Finn Barr's Catholic School).
